CAPE COD - REVISITED
(Jan 25th 2005)

Something missing here
Last time I came without
No toothbrush, no toothpaste
No money, no bathing suit

I sat right here, seashore
Gazing out upon the waves
Gazing out, sitting alone
Cold wind chills to the bone

Lying down
Facing down
Pen scratching
Utter nonsense

Looked around me
Something's missing
Though about my toothbrush
And where it is now

Then looked in the sky
And realized with a start
The sun had disappeared
And all around was dark

The toothbrush doesn't matter
Nor money nor bathing suit
All that was really missing
Was my sweet sunshine

And now, standing in the light
I look back upon my days
Remember the missing toothbrush
Still missing even today

But looking up in the sky
I see the sun is shining
My sweet sunshine is here
Until the final sundown

LOOKING BACK
(Jan 25th 2005)

Look back upon the path
Lefts replace rights
Twists replace turns
Turns ignored
Signs destroyed
Paths abandoned

And I wonder why
I never stopped to look
To read the simple signs
Or tunred my footsteps aside

Then I realize

Life's a journey
We live to learn
No right, no wrong
Only time to tell

Now, finally in the light
Looking fowards not backwards
Believing & trusting now in
My choices
My love
My heart

*reminds everyone of the previous poem written this month - "The Vows" - right below this one*

& I'm sorry I haven't written much poetry lately, but I had a lot of inspiration yesterday and I feel like it's all still there today so today is going to be write write write write!

Enjoy! Laterz all *hugs to Andy*

Symbol
(Jan 21st 2004)

Round and round it goes
Encircling my wrist
Look, matching on yours
Flipped, reversed and backwards
Hours and hours spent weaving
Knotting, knitting whichever
To make two matching for you and I
Flawed yet perfect, no matter

Worn forever on my left hand
Circling it, binding it, I'm
Forever to be yours, you know this
Along with rest of me, I am yours
For all of time as long as I wear this
I am yours until the day I die
And while you wear yours too
We'll be bound til the end of time

Though I haven't always believed
I must say now I do quite so
So let this be a symbol forever
Of my complete devotion to you
No longer buried in my misery
But looking greatly towards a future
When I lie beside you the first time
The first day of the rest of our lives

The Vows
(January 12th, 2005)

People surround
Last day is today
Your looks astound
Today is the first day
Trumpets sound
we all yell hooray
We're homeward bound
Tomorrow's by the bay
Last look around
We'll say "I say"
Before we're bound
Look around, say "Hey"
The ring, so round
Today's the last day
We whisper, no sound
"I do", the last phrase

Slip ring on finger
Today's the day to say "I do"
Kiss me, and let linger
Listen to morning doves coo
Look there, it's our singer
Our doubters drenched in goo
Within this day we shall linger
So let the sun now dawn anew

In sickness and in health
In anger and in laughter
In richness and in poorness
In happiness and in sorrow
No matter where we are
No matter what happens
Know for a simple truth
That I will always love you

I do
I do

The sun sets in the background
Great hugs, alone at last
As we smile for one last sound
Together forever, now at rest
Until our last final rest
Click click, no people around
The ring is still as round
We've found our true love at last
