I LOVE YOU

What is it to love?
To feel like this for another
What does it mean, for me
To say those famous words
I love you

Let me hold you in my arms
And whisper in your ear
Feel your warmth next to me
And gaze deep into your eyes

Let me worry while you're away
And while you're sick and down
Hold you through your night
And wipe your tears away

Let me forgive all trespasses
And wrongs you might have done
Say that everything's alright
And it's all over now

Let me wrap my arms around you
And hold you all the time
See the smile upon your face
And hear your cheerful laugh

Let me cuddle beside you
And stroke your soft hair
Sit on your lap and hug you
And gently nibble your ear

Let me lie beside you
And gaze up at the stars
Hold your hand and smile in silence
And gaze at each other

Let me care for you
And share in all of your life
Be mine forever and ever
And I'll cherish you for all time

Let me love you
And all that I have written
For this is what I believe
And all I hope and dream
For me, this is to love

THERE ARE TIMES

There are times
When life starts to drag me down
And everything seems impossible
Life's just going nowhere
Running on empty

And there are times
When the despair begins to overwhelm me
Darkness is all I can predict
Life's full of nothing
Nothing to live for

There are times
When the troubles seem too big
And they threaten to drown me
Life's just too big
There's nothing I can do

And then... something happens

Then I see your face
And read the words you've written
Do you know how much they mean?
To read the poems about me
To know how much you care

Then I hear your voice
And I'm filled with a greater joy
The world seems full of life
Life's going where I want it
Everything to live for

Then... everything begins to change

There are times
When life seems so perfect
And everything is possible
Nothing can stop me ever
I'm invincible

And there are times
When it seems love will always triumph
Over despair and darkness
And you and I together
Can walk these dark paths forever

There are times
When everything seems so right
And I think how foolish I was
To think that things could be wrong
No, life is perfect

MY LOVE

We sit now together
Side by side
And talk quietly in the night
Of life and of love
Of the past and the future
And of what we believe

And we talk of what we've written
Of the words which went between us
Words of love and of belief
Of a future which may be
Of a dream which could come true
If we both believe

And you say that you'd give me the moon
And also the world
But now, be silent and listen
I don't want the moon
Nor anything else in the world
All I want is you

No all I want from you
Is you and your heart
Your love is enough for me
Let's keep it at that

I want nothing grand
Nor expensive gifts
The world is far too big
No really all I want
Is your love
And your heart

So here, lying in the night
Whisper I love you
And I'll whisper it back
That's all I've ever wanted
Just to love
And be loved in return
